Shapo – Review & Testimonial Widgets for Google and More

Description

Your customers already say good things about you. Shapo collects those words, keeps them in one place and shows them where people decide to buy: on your own website. This plugin connects your WordPress site to Shapo and puts any Shapo widget, form or survey on a page with a block, a page builder element or a shortcode.

There is no Google API key to create and no business ID to look up. You import reviews in Shapo by pasting your business link, design the widget there, and place it here.

Show reviews where visitors decide

Bring in reviews from Google, your WooCommerce store, Trustpilot, G2, Capterra, Yelp, Facebook and 30+ other sites, add the testimonials you collect yourself, and show them in the layout that suits the page:

• Grid: a masonry wall of review cards for a testimonials or about page.
• Carousel and multi carousel: rotating review cards for a homepage section.
• Marquee: a strip of reviews that scrolls slowly under a hero or a pricing table.
• List: one review after another, easy to read on a long product page.
• Single review: one strong quote next to a signup form or a checkout button.
• Rating badge: your star rating and review count, small enough for a header or footer.
• Floating review toast: a small popup that shows reviews one at a time while visitors browse.

Each widget takes your colours, fonts and spacing, plays video testimonials as well as text, and can be filtered, for example to 5-star reviews only or to reviews tagged for one product, so every page shows the proof that fits it.

Collect new testimonials, including video

Share a collection form by link or place it on your site. Customers leave a star rating and a written review, or record a video testimonial on their phone or laptop with nothing to install. Your own questions and product tags add the details that make a review believable, such as how long someone has been a customer or which product they bought, and a consent checkbox records their permission to quote them.

Get more reviews on Google and other sites

Review Booster is a branded page with your review links on it: Google, Trustpilot, Facebook or your own form. Send the one link in a receipt, a text message or a QR code, and customers pick where to review you in one tap.

A Wall of Love page

Put every review on one page under your logo and colours, and link to it from your menu, a proposal or an email signature, so anyone checking you out finds all the proof in one place.

Hear from customers and visitors

• NPS survey: one question from 0 to 10, from a button on your site or a link in an email. You get the score, the reason behind each answer, and the happy customers worth asking for a review.
• Feedback widget: a small button visitors use to tell you what went wrong on the page they are on. Every comment arrives with its page address.
• AI surveys: a short chat that asks each customer the follow-up question an interviewer would, then groups and ranks the reasons people buy, stay or leave.

Shapo analytics show how many visitors saw each widget and how many clicked it, how many people opened each form and how many finished it, the views and clicks on your Wall of Love and Review Booster, and your survey responses and scores. You can see which reviews and pages do the work, and which sites your widgets run on.

• Page builders: a native Shapo element in Elementor, Beaver Builder, Bricks and WPBakery, not just a shortcode box.
• Block editor: the Shapo Widget block, with a live preview while you edit. Pasting the embed code from Shapo into the editor turns it into the block.
• Everything else: the [shapo] shortcode works in Divi, Oxygen, Breakdance, the classic editor, widget areas and theme templates.
• Whole site: show a floating review popup or survey button on every page from the plugin settings.

Connect your Shapo workspace once and the block and builder elements list your widgets, forms and surveys, so you pick one by name. Connecting works on every Shapo plan, including the free plan. You can skip it and paste an id instead.

Widgets resize to fit their content, keep their own styles so your theme’s CSS cannot break them, and can be lazy loaded. The plugin keeps caching and speed plugins (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, Cloudflare Rocket Loader) from delaying the Shapo script until the first click, which would otherwise leave widgets blank for visitors who never interact with the page.

Free plan and Pro

You need a Shapo account, and a free one is enough to use everything in this plugin. The free plan includes up to 10 testimonials and imported reviews, unlimited widgets and forms, one survey, and Shapo branding on widgets. Pro removes the testimonial limit and the branding, and re-imports your reviews from each source every day so new ones appear on their own. Plans and prices are on shapo.io/pricing. Visitors never see trial notices or upgrade messages; on the free plan the only sign is a small «Powered by Shapo» badge under the widget.

Shortcodes

[shapo id="WIDGET_ID"] shows a widget.

[shapo form="FORM_ID"] and `[shapo survey="SURVEY_ID"]` show a form or a survey.

[shapo id="WIDGET_ID" lazy="true"] waits until visitors scroll near the widget.

[shapo_rating_schema id="WORKSPACE_ID"] adds review schema (an aggregate rating in JSON-LD) built from your Shapo reviews. Add `tags`, `name` or `type` to narrow it, for example `[shapo_rating_schema id="WORKSPACE_ID" tags="Blue Shoes" name="Blue Shoes" type="Product"]`.

You can use the embed code copied from Shapo in place of any id.

Where reviews come from

Shapo imports reviews from Google, WooCommerce, Facebook, Trustpilot, G2, Capterra, Yelp, Tripadvisor, Product Hunt, the App Store, Google Play, Etsy, Shopify review apps (Judge.me, Okendo, Yotpo, Loox, Stamped), Zillow, Udemy, Clutch and more, and lets you pick which ones each widget shows, for example only 5-star reviews or only reviews tagged for one product. External services

This plugin connects to Shapo (https://shapo.io) to display your widgets, forms and surveys. Shapo is provided by Configo Ltd.

• On pages that show a Shapo block, shortcode or element, or on every page when you turn on the site-wide embed or the «load on every page» setting, the visitor’s browser loads the Shapo script from cdn.shapo.io and the widget itself from app.shapo.io and api.shapo.io. Those requests include the page URL, which Shapo uses for widget analytics. The widget page loads its fonts from fonts.bunny.net and a script library from cdnjs.cloudflare.com, shows reviewers’ profile pictures from the site the review came from (for example Google), and reports rendering errors to Sentry. Shapo is served through Cloudflare.
• While you edit, the Shapo Widget block previews the selected widget, form or survey by loading it from app.shapo.io inside the editor.
• When you click Connect with Shapo, you are sent to app.shapo.io to sign in and approve the connection. Your site then exchanges a one-time code with api.shapo.io for a connection token, and uses that token to fetch the names and ids of your widgets, forms and surveys while you edit. Your site URL and site title are sent so the connection shows up in your Shapo account.
• When you disconnect, or delete the plugin while connected, your site asks api.shapo.io to revoke its connection token.
